Lover of fresh seafood, a salty breeze blowing through my hair, and a paintbrush dipped in teal – living down in the Florida Keys on an old “leaky teaky” sailboat does wonders for my creative inspiration. Moving down here with my hubby on our 41’ Island Trader has filled my wanderlust cup to the brim. A year ago I was the lead graphic artist for a reality TV production company, M2 Pictures. I had the awesome opportunity to create motion graphics and special effects for networks such as Investigative Discovery, TLC, and the Travel Channel. Whether I was creating fire and smoke from scratch, transforming sunny day scenes into starry evening scenes, or designing lower thirds for the newest TV show – I felt like a modern day magician with After Effects being my secret tool! Despite all of these amazing opportunities I soon realized I was not made to be in front of a computer screen for 8-10+ hours per day. These days I am happily clicking away with my camera as I photograph the different “dolphin-alities” A few tweaks here and there within my life led me to a photographer position down in paradise. I can now happily say I spend 8-10+ hours a day photographing dolphins and designing projects for an amazing non-profit, the Dolphin Research Center.
While I haven’t completely traded in my mouse for working with my hands there is now a better balance between the two.
